We have some exciting news – we’re launching our own annual sponsored walk. It’s time to get your walking boots on and take in the scenic routes of Macclesfield!
As an independent charity that solely relies on funding to support all our activities, it’s important for us to continue raising awareness of what we do. Our purpose is to enable people affected by sight loss to lead fulfilling lives at work, at home and in the community. We help visually impaired individuals and families with advice, information, training, and equipment demonstrations to support them.
Our exciting new initiative is another way we can help those who need it and it’s extremely rewarding for those involved. Walking is not only easy for most people, but also really good for you, and a fun thing to do, all at the same time. The entire walk will be 10K, however all walkers do have the opportunity to just complete 5K at the halfway point.
If you want to do your bit for charity and go the extra miles (see what we did there?!), join our Vision Walk on Saturday 27th April 2024! We will be meeting at our resource centre between 10-10:30am and will have lots of great fun along the way for all the family! Details are as follows:
- Entry fees: 16+ years old – £10, 5 – 15-year-olds – £5, 4 years old and under – Free!
- Equivalent to entry fee given back in vouchers if you raise £50 or more
- Goody bags
- Crisps, cake and refreshments available at the end of the walk
- Adventure trail for children
- All participants will receive a lanyard, and a completion certificate
It is important to note that everyone is responsible for themselves on the walk and if you would like food and drink during the walk, please bring this with you. Well behaved, controlled dogs are also welcome – but will be the owner’s own responsibility.
We’re excited to see you there!
